Our mission is to help ensure that all Americans continue to enjoy the God-given liberties set forth in the Declaration of Independence, United States Constitution, and Bill of Rights — by equipping every pastor who joins us with the training and resources needed to secure Liberty for our own and the next generation of Americans.

What Is a Patriot Pastor?

  • ✦ Will not divorce the role of pastor from matters bearing on the temporal or eternal welfare of the flock, nor from the deliberations of civil government.
  • ✦ Preaches the whole counsel of God — including biblical principles of governance and civic duty.
  • ✦ Delivers a minimum of one election sermon prior to every election.
  • ✦ Instills a biblical worldview by teaching and preaching its principles in every area of life.
  • ✦ Teaches that voting is a sacred duty incumbent upon every follower of Christ.
  • ✦ Ensures every member of voting age within the flock is registered to vote.

Legacy & History

The Black Robe Regiment — A 400-Year Legacy

From the time English settlers arrived on American shores, the clergy have played a decisive role in securing civil and religious liberty. The British called them the "Black (Robed) Regiment" — a derisive reference to their pulpit robes — and rightfully so. John Adams observed that preaching had "effected a revolution in the hearts and minds of the people before the war commenced."

April 1607 · Cape Henry, VA
Rev. Robert Hunt

Among the first English settlers, Rev. Hunt planted a cross at Cape Henry and dedicated the new land to God — establishing the spiritual foundation of the American experiment.

1630 · Massachusetts Bay Colony
Puritan Leader John Winthrop

First Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, Winthrop's vision of America as "a city upon a hill" set the moral and civic framework for a self-governing Christian republic.

1750 · Boston, MA
Rev. Johnathan Mayhew

Called the "Morning Gun of the Revolution" by John Adams, Mayhew's 1750 sermon condemned unlimited submission to tyranny — igniting the ideological fire of American independence.

April 19, 1775 · Lexington, MA
Rev. Jonas Clark

Pastor Clark helped train Lexington's militia — the "Minutemen" — who fired the shot heard 'round the world. The Black Robe Regiment stood at the very birth of American liberty.
